Sinan Sweis is the founder and director of Jabal Amman Publishers (www.JAPublishers.com) in Amman, Jordan, a company that is positioned to become a marketplace leader in the field of knowledge and content creation and a company whose name connects it to its location in the beautiful Jabal Amman area- an area that is well-known as the cultural heart of the city, from which some of the first artistic and literary movements have emerged.

In founding the company, Sinan has sought to go beyond traditional approaches, redefining the meaning of publishing in the region, focusing on content that engages and transforms.
Sinan believes that knowledge is a right to all. He seeks to make knowledge accessible to young entrepreneurs from challenging backgrounds, and for those who are unable to read in English, now have the same access to knowledge as the well-educated through the provision of top-notch Arabic resources. JAP also aims to be a voice to the voiceless also put a face to numbers, through tackling sensitive and untouched topics in the Arab region.

In parallel to managing JAP, Sinan is also passionate about mentoring and developing new Arab writers, and his recent efforts brought to life several new authors who received regional recognition.

Sinan takes corporate social responsibility seriously and has involved the company in projects that combine a value for reading as well as empowering people and effecting change; some of which where implemented on a national level and received the support and recognition of the royal family.
Sinan born and raised in Amman, he has a B.A. degree in psychology and a graduate degree in Middle Eastern Studies from the University of London- School of Oriental & African Studies. He began his career doing development work in conflict-torn countries like Iraq and Yemen and has worked as a consultant for several non-governmental organizations. This experience has added depth to his experience that continues to inform his focus.
